GOP Debate Audience Members Make Fools of Themselves by Booing Gay Soldier (Video)
Another GOP presidential debate in Florida last night apparently presented the opportunity for audience members to make asses of themselves on national television again, this time by booing a gay soldier stationed in Iraq.
During the Fox News/Google debate in Orlando, a question was given to Rick Santorum in the form of a YouTube video from Steven Hill -- an Army soldier -- saying, "In 2010, when I was deployed to Iraq, I had to lie about who I was because I'm a gay soldier and I didn't want to lose my job."
Hill then proceeded to ask if any of the candidates would reverse the progress made for gay and lesbian soldiers serving in the U.S. military.
Several audience members booed Hill as his video question ended.
Santorum went on to answer the question, but that's irrelevant.
We -- as well as our readers -- thought that the audience cheering the rampant executions of people was the most outlandish comment of the CNN/Tea Party Express debate in Tampa a couple of weeks ago, but the audience in Orlando set a new bar for being absolutely outrageous.
While Steven Hill is fighting for the country in Iraq, there were people sitting on their asses in an air-conditioned room in Orlando -- some even decided to play dress-up for the event -- who decided to boo him.
Here's the video of the latest audience-bred lunacy:
from Chan Lowe about the difference between gay and straight soldiers.
