LeBron James Chooses the Soundtrack to NBA2K14 Videogame
LeBron James is so ball-crushingly awesome at basketball that he is now officially the first NBA player who's on the cover who got to choose the soundtrack for the best-selling NBA2K14 videogame.
2K Sports announced Friday that LeBron has chosen 20 songs for the videogame.
He's also gracing the cover by himself, which is the first time a player appears on the cover solo since Michael Jordan did in 2011.
For the videogame, LeBron has chosen an eclectic array of artists such as Drake, Daft Punk, Phil Collins, and his BFF Jay Z.
Jay Z was an executive producer for last year's videogame, which sold more than 4.5 million copies.
"2K is letting me take control of some important elements in NBA 2K14, including this year's soundtrack," James said in a statement Friday. "I love that I'm the first NBA 2K cover athlete to choose the soundtrack."
Among the songs and artists LeBron went with: "Started From the Bottom" by Drake; Daft Punk's "Get Lucky," featuring Pharrell Williams and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis; "Lost!" by Coldplay; "All of the Lights" by Kanye West; "Clint Eastwood" by Gorillaz; and a nice Miami-touch track: Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight."
Other artists featured are Rick Ross, John Legend, Kendrick Lamar, the Black Keys, Eminem, Fly Union, Nas, and Puff Daddy.
NBA 2K14 is expected to go on sale October 1.
