After hopping into a woman's car at a red light and trying to rape her in Delray Beach in 2009, Marcus Christian McFadden is headed to prison.
For his 31st birthday yesterday, McFadden received a 30-year prison sentence from a Palm Beach County judge.
According to an arrest affidavit, McFadden got into the woman's car on March 10, 2009, at the intersection of NW Tenth Avenue and West Atlantic Avenue as she was leaving her friend's house around 11:30 p.m.
Aside from saying he was going to rape her, the report says, McFadden told the woman he was going to "fuck her up and kill her" and directed her to drive to the beach.
The woman pulled a U-turn, and as McFadden put his hand down her pants, she decided to drive back to her friend's house.
Several of her friends were outside of the house when she pulled up, and she bailed out of her moving Dodge Neon, screaming at her friends that McFadden was trying to rape her.
Four of the woman's male friends chased McFadden until police showed up, whereupon McFadden ditched his 32-ounce bottle of Natural Light beer and was arrested.
McFadden was convicted of burglary of an occupied conveyance with battery, kidnapping, and attempted sexual battery.
He faced a maximum sentence of life in prison for both the kidnapping and burglary charges but received a 30-year sentence for both of them, which were ordered by the judge to run concurrently.
McFadden also received a sentence of 8.8 years in prison for the attempted sexual battery, which will also run concurrent with his other two 30-year sentences.
