Rob Lopicola, Former Weatherman Convicted of Sex With Boys, Indicted in $14.5 Million Scam
Former WPTV-Ch. 5 weatherman (and former New Times Best Weathercaster) Rob Lopicola, who was sentenced to 56 months in prison after he engaged in unlawful sexual activity with a teen boy he met on Craigslist, might be in more hot water now, according to a report.
Gossip Extra is reporting that Lopicola, 44, has been indicted by an Illinois federal grand jury in his connection with an alleged telemarketing scam that bilked victims out of millions of dollars.
Apparently, Lopicola worked for a West Palm Beach telemarketing company in 2009 that is being accused of scamming thousands of unsuspecting timeshare owners out of $14.5 million. Lopicola is facing 25-years in prison if convicted.
Gossip Extra says that prosecutors could wait for Lopicola's release in 2016 from the Everglades Correctional Institution to have him appear in court.

His official charge is felony conspiracy to commit wire fraud. He allegedly committed the crime while serving time.
Lopicola made calls for Premier Timeshare Solutions, which allegedly charged 7,000 timeshare owners across the U.S., Canada and the Bahamas for timeshare sales that never actually happened, according to a federal indictment.
Lopicola and at least three others employed at the company would ask the timeshare owners for $1,000 to handle the nonexistent sales.
The fake sales never went through, but Lopicola and the company pocketed the millions anyway.
According to the report, the company owner has plead guilty to wire fraud. His sentencing is still pending.
In December 2013, Lopicola was sentenced for having sex with underaged boys, and ordered to register as a sex offender once he's released.
Lopicola lured two teen boys via some pretty heinous text messages before meeting with them. They also exchanged graphic photos. He then performed fellatio on the 15-year-old, who lived in Boca Raton at the time, and the 17-year-old, who hailed from West Palm Beach.
Among some of the more graphic text messages Lopicola exchanged with his 15-year-old victim, as reported by New Times at the time of his arrest:
-I realy like u! we have a big age difference, im a lot older, cud b yor dad. U sure u want an older boyfriend and a bigger muscular guy too?
-I wud wana be like yor dad but yor lover
-wana be dad and son lovers?
-I want u to bareback me and squirt yor boy seed inside me
-I watch dad son and bareback porn and extreme age difference sex
-U text me minimum 3x a day and u must text me wenever u masturbate ok
-Wud u let any of my 40 yo friends fuck u with me?
-Can I get a hot 55yo to fuk u baby?
-its hot for me and I just wana watch a grandpa fuck my boy just once. Il b kissing and loving u don't worry
During his sentencing, Lopicola broke down and pleaded for mercy. The judge gave him mercy, reducing what could have been a 20-year sentence down to 10, with time served.
Now he's looking at possibly going to prison for 25 years, if he's found guilty of these fraud charges.
