Rumors Swirling At Post
I've gotten several e-mails, phone calls, and comments on this blog suggesting that radical changes are about to take place at the Palm Beach Post. Still nothing is confirmed, but I want you all to know that I'm trying to keep my ear to tracks on this matter.
Just today I got a voice mail that the Post was going to lay off numerous employees and kill the south bureau altogether. Sources at the paper, however, haven't been able to confirm this. They're just waiting -- tensely waiting. "My gut feeling isthat it’s going to be ugly," said one veteran writer. "I’ve heard so many things that I don't know what to believe anymore."
I hate this shit -- and I'm sick of covering the death of my industry on this blog. But somebody should do it on the local level and I guess right now I'm that guy.
As they say on the Internets -- GLTA (Good luck to all).
