Searching for a Palm Beach Rapist Who Bites Victims
The Palm Beach Sheriff's office has just announced it's searching for a violent rapist with a strange penchant for beating and biting his victims. Investigators believe the man has attacked two women since April, a 21-year-old and a 53-year-old, both in Palm Beach County.
Here's what they know so far, from a flier being circulated by Crime Stoppers:
On 8/8/09 in the area of Forest Hill Blvd. and Military Trail a 53 year old, w/f, who was sitting outside her residence in the late evening hours was violently sexually battered, beaten and bitten by her attacker.
On 4/9/09 in the area of Old Dixie Highway in Jupiter a 21 year old, w/f, who was walking at night in her neighborhood was also violently sexually battered, beaten and bitten by her attacker. Both attacks are believed to have been committed by the same person.
UPDATE: One of the victims, the 53-year-old woman from suburban West Palm Beach, has died. Teri Barbera, public information officer for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, says officials are not yet certain whether the woman's death was caused by the attack, because she died two weeks after she was sexually assaulted. However, Barbera added, the victim "was severely beaten."
Anyone with information about the rapist is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-8477 (TIPS). You will remain anonymous and receive a reward up to $1,000.00. You may also contact Detective Terwilliger at (561) 688-4143, Detective Gunn at (561) 688-4126, or Detective Canonico at (561)741-2412.
