Suspected Thief Shot, Killed in Lauderdale Lakes
A Broward Sheriff's Office sting aimed at catching a suspected thief turned into a gunfight this afternoon at the 19th Street Food Shop in Lauderdale Lakes. From the BSO release:
The suspect, a man in his 20s, was the subject of an investigation by BSO and other agencies into several recent robberies in the Central Broward area. A tactical team of detectives arranged to meet the suspect outside the 19th Street Food Store. As detectives approached the suspect he exited his vehicle armed with a handgun. Detectives fired, and the suspect was shot and killed.
