Timothy McCabe, Missing Boca Raton Attorney, Owes $600,000 in "UFC Fight Shoes," Lawsuit Says
The day before Boca Raton attorney Timothy McCabe disappeared with more than $3 million of his Boca Raton firm's money, he sent a cryptic email to his wife: "You never knew what I was doing, but after the bank took our properties I made a series of very bad business decisions," he said.
He sure wasn't kidding.
In the past six weeks, his law firm has been sued four times both in federal and state court for owing a lot of people a lot of money.
The most recent one, which involves allegations that McCabe & Samiljan owe $600,000 in "UFC fight shoes," slammed the recently disbarred attorney earlier this month, adding just one more twist to a narrative rife with them. There's still no word on where McCabe went, what he's done with the $3 million, or how, exactly, he's been able to evade authorities for so long.

But for now, more specific concerns should dominate McCabe's thoughts -- if he still cares and isn't on some Caribbean dot under a false name, cushioned by millions in cash -- like, namely, what happened with the "UFC Fight Shoes"?
In 2009, a Palm Beach County company named Ringstar, which said it represented the branding of the shoes worn in the UFC, got in touch with an Asian manufacturing outfit called Golden Pacific.
Then came a shoe bonanza. Ringstar, which has ties to McCabe's law firm, asked the Asian manufacturer to produce, in addition to the "UFC Fight Shoes," other shoes called "Fight Pro" and "Throwdown."
Golden Pacific kept chugging out more warrior footwear, but McCabe and company wouldn't pay up, according to the lawsuit, filed in West Palm Beach.
Now, after one year of unpaid debts, McCabe and Ringstar owe more than $600,000 for shoes.
And this whole time, you thought your wife spent a lot of money on shoes.
