Victim Identified in Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Hollywood
The Miami firefighter killed Thursday night when his motorcycle was struck by car has been identified as Leslie F. Luma, 37, from Miramar.
According to details just released by Hollywood Police Department, Luma was riding his 2005 Suzuki motorcycle north on State Road 7 Thursday night at 8:46 pm when a 2001 Ford Mustang in the southbound lane crossed over the yellow line and struck Luma, killing him.
Police have not identified the Mustang's driver, who was treated for minor injuries. It remains to be seen whether he or she will be charged criminally. Nor does the release say whether Luma was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
