The Armory Art Center is not just a gallery; it’s an artists’ retreat, a sort of West Point for the creative. Last year, two world-renowned artists, Suzanne Scherer and Pavel Ouporov, joined Armory as the “2-D Artists in Residence” and taught a class on painting with egg tempera — one of the oldest methods in art and not to be confused with tempura, a Japanese style of frying.
