Circuses are an American tradition, but they also have a bad — often well-deserved — reputation on animal-rights issues. Still, there's a lot to enjoy, which explains why the tradition hangs on. Hold onto your seat as the aerialists shoot out of a giant catapult soaring over the crowd. Oooh and Ahhh over the daredevil motorcyclists who defy gravity in the "Globe of Doom." Debate whether to call PETA while you watch elephants balance bouncing balls and white tigers doing tricks. After all, political polarization is also an American tradition.
If you still don't know whether you're pro- or anti-circus, decide for yourself at the Piccadilly Circus, with showings at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the South Florida Fairgrounds. Tickets cost $8 to $42 with a special buy-one, get-one-free deal using the code "circus" online. There will also be a free petting zoo along with camel and pony rides. The South Florida Fairgrounds are located at 9067 Southern Blvd. in West Palm Beach. Call 877-373-0477, or visit... More >>>
