Not feeling well? No need to call a doctor. Just Google your symptoms to discover the problem. If you frequently self-diagnose or know someone who does, you won't want to miss the "Amy Wong: Hypochondriac Series" at the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood.
Wong, a graduate of Concordia University in Montréal and De Ateliers in Amsterdam, has shown at the Seoul Museum of Art and the Chinese European Art Center, among others. Her "Hypochondriac Series" includes drawings of drug and medical diagrams and reflects upon what the artist calls "looking up the internet doctor" or having too much data and not enough wisdom.
Catch the exhibit on display now until September 1 at the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood, located at 1650 Harrison St. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $10 for adults; $6 for students, seniors, and children ages 4 to 17; and free to center members and children 3 and younger. Call 954-921-3274, or visit... More >>>
