Downtown Delray Beach will be an open-air art gallery on Thursday, with four-by-six-foot gallery walls set up along six blocks. Show up in the evening and you'll get to ogle and analyze works by 20 selected artists while taking in live music and guzzling alcohol (if that's your thing). The occasion is Arts, Beats, & Eats -- the art fair formerly known as Art & Jazz on the Avenue. It's been reinvented after 17 years to spotlight cutting-edge contemporary art of the sort found at Art Basel. The live music has been broadened to include stylings from three continents: North America, South America, and Europe, with each region represented by two live bands. And let's talk about alcohol. If you buy a wristband, you'll get free tastings at six bars set up along the street and 50 percent off cocktails -- on top of major discounts at three downtown restaurants and a bunch of shops and boutiques. The proceeds benefit a nonprofit, Shuzz, that provides shoes to the poor worldwide.

Arts, Beats, & Eats on Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m. in downtown Delray Beach on Atlantic Avenue. Admission is free. Wristbands cost $20. Visit downtowndelraybeach.com/arts-beats-eats.
