Quick, whats the worlds eighth-largest country? Yeah, thats right Argentina. So why dont you know more about it? (Dont even try to say you can locate Tierra del Fuego, and then point to your pants.) Dont worry, youre not in for a lecture just a film fest. FAU professor Luis Duno-Gottberg has sifted through the archives and put together A Retrospective of Argentinean Film. Todays offerings at Cinema Paradiso (503 SE Sixth St., Fort Lauderdale): at 4 p.m., Una Galllega de Habana, a 1955 comedy about a woman who goes from Spain to Cuba, with singing by the legendary Celia Cruz; at 6 p.m., La Guerra Gaucha, a 1942 flick about Argentinean cowboys fighting the occupying Spanish army; and at 8 p.m., the 1984 movie Asesinato en el Senado de la Nacion, about a senator investigating a corruption case, who then becomes a target for assassination.
