Until now, many Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fans have probably assumed that the fighters are just as angry offstage as they are onstage. The fights are brutal and bloody -- losers get their noses punched in as their bodies are completely pulverized by their opponents' fists. But what we haven't seen is the behind-the-scenes images of these modern warriors.

The Pop Culture Vault Art Gallery will unveil the first fine-art exhibit dedicated solely to mixed martial arts. The downtown Delray Beach gallery will showcase the works of sports photographer Eric Williams, whose photos provide an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the life of MMA fighters. "Beyond the Cage" is free and kicks off with an opening reception from 8 to 10 p.m. Saturday, when Former UFC Light Heavyweight champion "Suga" Rashad Evans will be present to sign memorabilia for fans. The exhibit runs until January 31 at Pop Culture Vault Art Gallery (250 E. Atlantic Ave., Delray Beach). Visit popculturevault.com or beyondthecagemma.com.
