Palm trees twinkle with Christmas lights. The peppermint mocha at Starbucks is back. And sweaters are taken out of the attic with the slightest threat of a dip in temperature lower than 75 degrees. It looks like Christmas, but will it ever feel like it? After all, you live in Florida. An icy forecast in Fort Lauderdale shows that holiday cheer may be right around the corner. Skate Las Olas, presented by One Beat CPR, invites children and adults to ice-skate under the sun and stars in an 1,800-square-foot outdoor rink, located on the lawn at the Riverside Hotel at 620 E. Las Olas Blvd. The rink is open to the public through December 21, Monday through Friday, from 4 to 10 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m. From December 22 through January 6, the rink is open daily to skaters from noon to 9 p.m. An hourlong skate is $10 per individual, which includes the rental of skates. Call 954-377-0943 or visit skatelasolas.com.
