The Samba Room (350 East Las Olas Blvd, Fort Lauderdale) is a classy little joint along Las Olas with hot music, gourmet Latin food, and offshoots in Orlando and Denver. And now it’s sexing itself up with a lingerie show. Every Sunday at 7 p.m., Samba Room hosts the music/art event called “Samba Lounge.” This week, designer Mariana London will introduce her new line of undergarments with a photography exhibit and live models. That’s right, guys: live lingerie models. It’s like a real-life, 3D version of the Victoria’s Secret catalogues you’ve been stashing under the bed, unbeknownst to the wife. Rob Negron is emceeing and DJ Adam Foster is spinning his retinue of jazz, bossa nova, house, lounge, and hip-hop beats. The mini-catwalk’s taking place outside on the patio, where the cool ocean breeze could be stiff, so to speak. Oh, and there are half-price drinks (read: yummy, yummy mojitos) and appetizers.
