During this full moon, take the family out for a little hippie moon worship. The Hollywood Drum Circle has been gathering for 18 months to drum into the evening. All ages and levels are invited to bring a percussion instrument and participate. The group, along with facilitators and trained percussionists, meets every full moon in ArtsPark to learn about beats, drums, and the culture that goes with them. Resurrection Drums' Jeff Lee leads a new discussion each full moon. Last month, more than 300 drummers celebrated the supermoon. They learned about timbale drums and Cuban rhythms created with them. Lee begins by getting the kids in attendance on a rhythm and then brings in the adults to complement them. Drums are provided for children, but adults should bring their own percussion instruments. Drumming isn't required, but hand drums with both high and low sounds can be purchased at Resurrection Drums, sponsor of the drum circle, for $29 and up. The drum circle is free and meets this Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Palm Court, on the west side of Young Circle in ArtsPark, at 1 Young Circle in Hollywood. Visit visithollywoodfl.org.
