It's pretty clear that over the past couple decades, nerds as a people have had their revenge, and then some. Through the magic of the Internets, spectacled geekwads now rule the planet. They control you through video games, too - World of Warcraft continues to plunder your free time like some more addictive version of crack for the emotionally stunted. Yet, do nerds stop their onslaught? Never. So it goes, too, with the local comedy series Revenge of the Nerd Comics. Now on it's fifth extra life, Nerd Comics keeps drawing back hilarious local yucksters to Improv Paradise Live for a night of reveling in things you got beat up for in high school. Nerd vets Adrian Mesa, Mario Mateo, Casey Peruski, and Forrest Shaw return to the stage with host Lisa Corrao, but new faces abound: Daniel Reskin, host of the monthly comedy night Casa de Haha at Sweat Records, will hit the stage. As will Dave Kinney, a Wellington native who's done sets at the New York Comic Con, of all places. And, as always, there will be stormtroopers, lightsaber duels, and a possible appearance by one Mr. Caped Crusader.

Just grab $12 and head to 5700 Seminole Way in Hollywood, Wednesday at 8 p.m. Call 954-981-5653, or visit myspace.com/nerdcomics.
