People love food trucks. People love animals. People love going out on a Saturday night. So why settle for any old food truck roundup when there's one that involves all three? The food trucks are going on safari July 13 at the Palm Beach Zoo, and you can go with them. Because who doesn't want to meet a koala while eating pizza? No one, that's who. In cooperation with Food Truck Connection, several food trucks will be scattered throughout the zoo. There will be beer and wine in addition to live music from Sekond Nature and Medicine Hat. Handlers will be walking around with some of the friendlier zoo inhabitants for up-close and personal animal encounters. The trucks currently scheduled to attend are Crazydilla, Mediterranean Grill of the Palm Beaches, PS561, the Daily Special, Hot Wheels Pizza, Churrasco Grill, DOugh DOugh's Donuts, and Paradise Shave Ice. Food Truck Safari takes place from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday. The $10 admission and a portion of the food trucks' proceeds will go to support the zoo and the work they do with the animals. Palm Beach Zoo is located at 1301 Summit Blvd. in West Palm Beach. Call 561-533-0887, or visit palmbeachzoo.org.
