Whats the show all about? Cassanetti explains it like this: I see it as a panacea for the lack of opportunity local artists have in getting themselves out into the larger picture. The show is set to hip enthusiasts to 17 artists, most of whom are local and new, but some, like Palm Beachs Michael Korber and experimental artist U.N.O., who are already on the rise. For Cassanetti, bringing undiscovered art to the public is something close to home. My parents had a gallery in SoHo, so art publishing has been in my family for over 50 years, she says. And while she admits the indie art scene in South Florida is a tougher nut to crack than New York, shes been overwhelmed by the amount of response the show has received so far theres even plans to do another show at Respectables in the near future. For now, "Art Rx" is free from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. tonight, with catering from Whole Foods, live jazz from Drew Tucker until 10 p.m., and $6 martinis all night.
