The Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival is holding a 75th anniversary celebration for 20th Century Fox, and what better film to kick off the celebration than the Citizen Kane of the teen movie genre – Porky’s, a movie filmed right in our own backyard. FLIFF is following up the screening with a an after-party and “class reunion” with Porky’s cast and crew members, including a question-and-answer session. Appropriately enough, Pompano’s Chez Porky’s BBQ. So come on out and revisit the onscreen shenanigans of Pee Wee, Wendy, and the gang (and let’s not forget Balbricker, who gave new meaning to the term pulled pork). If you took part in the filming, contact FLIFF and let them know your role. (Note: saying you were “Pauly the Penis” probably won’t work.)

The porking starts at 7 p.m. Saturday at Cinema Paradiso (503 SE Sixth St., Fort Lauderdale). Tickets cost $5 to $7. Call 954-525-3456, or visit fliff.com.
Sat., Sept. 4, 7 p.m., 2010
