The fastest way to make the poseur list in skateboarding is to ride mongo — kicking with your front foot. But anyone with hopes of winning Saturday’s Adrenalina Skateboard Marathon will have to alternate feet to give each leg a rest. There’s nothing short about this race, from the boards (longboards recommended) to the course (26.2 miles) to the distance some of the contestants are traveling (How far away is Paris?). There’s also a 2.6-mile minimarathon, street skating, and FlowRider contests, and Adrenalina is celebrating the grand opening of its store at the Village at Gulfstream Park. Friday’s the deadline to register, so if you have $125 and a longboard, then you’ve got a shot at the $10,000 first-place prize. Whoever thought riding mongo could be so lucrative?

The marathon starts at 8 a.m. outside Adrenalina (1740 Via Da Fortuna, Hallandale Beach). Call 954-457-7931, or visit adrenalinaskateboardmarathon.com.
