Somebody call VH1. There’s a new theater trend demanding a reality show: America’s beloved television stars from the ´60s and ´70s are taking to the stage this holiday season in traditional British panto plays. Both Henry Winkler (the Fonz) and Paul Michael Glaser (Starsky) have skipped across the pond and played Captain Hooks in two different Peter Pan productions. But we haven’t lost all our aging stars: the Gold Coast Theater Co. has lured America’s first teen-heartthrob, Davy Jones, to Monkee around onstage in Aladdin today at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Broward Center’s Amaturo Theatre (201 SW Fifth Ave., Fort Lauderdale).

The British panto, by the way, is an over-the-top holiday fairytale with slapstick, visual gags, and audience participation. Bring the kids, or your inner kid, and yell, “Look out behind you!” when the bad guy sneaks up behind the hero. Tickets range from $30 to $45. Call 954-462-0222, or visit www.browardcenter.org.
