Close your eyes and think of St. Patrick's Day. OK, wait; open them back up so you can read this. But in that brief nanosecond, no doubt memories of a sea of green and an overdose on Irish Car Bombs came to mind. Why limit the "Irish for a day" drinking festivities to just 24 hours out of the entire year? No longer will our wait for St. Patrick's Day hold us down throughout the year: Halfway to St. Patrick's Day is almost upon us!
Like a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, the cash you pay at the door to get into this fine soiree will go straight to Covenant House Florida to help out the homeless. This event is being hosted by Young Professionals of the Covenant House, a group that likes to party with a purpose. Bust out that Guinness shirt and your favorite party beads and get your drink on like it's March 17.
Halfway to St. Patrick's Day is Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dubliner (210 SW Second St., Fort Lauderdale). Admission price comes with two complimentary drinks and passed appetizers. Members pay $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Nonmembers pay $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Visit youngpros.org.
