If youve always been partial to policies that involve comprehensive sex education, and the prevention of STDs in conjunction with access to birth control, this free, comprehensive, one-day program could be for you. Young politically savvy types will learn how to impact public policy by learning tips on speaking to large crowds, community mobilizing, and working with elected officials. The program starts with breakfast at 10 a.m. and will run until 4 p.m. at the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center (2650 Sistrunk Blvd., Fort Lauderdale). Call 561-472-9941, or visit ppsoflo.org or youngactivist.org to reserve a space.
