It’s no secret that Fort Lauderdalians love beer: Just look at the number of craft-beer bars in the area. That being said, it’s not legit until you get a brewery in town. That’s about to happen. The Funky Buddha Brewery is opening its doors in Oakland Park this Saturday. The full-scale production brewery and taproom will be the largest in all of South Florida. Take that, Miami!
Sponsored by the City of Oakland Park, the grand opening will take place from 4 p.m. to midnight — the ribbon-cutting ceremony is at 5 p.m. The event will feature live music, food trucks including Ms. Cheezious, Bite Gastrotruck, Taco Fresh, and Frankie Dogs, and, obviously, craft beer. Beers can be purchased by tickets, which cost $5 each. Funky Buddha Brewery is located at 1201 NE 38th St. in Oakland Park. Call 954-440-0046, or visit funkybuddhabrewery.com.
