Hungering for something zestier than those interactive wedding and bar mitzvah shows? Meet the Calamari sisters. These, ahem, ladies discover that their cooking show is about to get chopped from the lineup at the public access cable station, and they aren’t handling the news well. Sure, they’ll sing songs of comfort, like “That’s Amore,” “Come On-A My House,” and “Mambo Italiano,” but rumor has it a food fight breaks out anyhow. Delphine Calamari divulged, “My personal standby would be the cucchiaio[wooden spoon]. The splinters come out in a week or two tops!” Hopefully these rowdy gals may be willing to share some eats with the audience before the sauce sticks to the walls.

Get your spaghetti on when Cooking With the Calamari Sisters is performed at 3 p.m., 7:30 p.m., or both, depending on the day, until it closes January 9. Thursday’s show is at 7:30 p.m. at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts’ Amaturo Theater (201 SW Fifth Ave. in Fort Lauderdale). Tickets cost $25 and $35. Call 954-462-0222, or visit browardcenter.org.
Thu., Jan. 6, 7:30 p.m.; Jan. 7-9, 2011
