Kim Morrell is Rosie the Riveter on a souped-up motorcycle going 180 mph. The SoFla native is one of the fastest female drag racers in the world, a single mother capable of covering an eighth of a mile in four seconds. (Try doing that in your minivan.) And she’ll be burning rubber at the American Drag Racing League’s Florida debut extravaganza in Palm Beach. Morrell is the defending Pro Extreme Motorcycle World Champion — nothing to sniff at. Motorcycles and doorslammers will be zooming up the Palm Beach drag strip at dangerous speeds, competing in categories with names like “Pro Nitrous,” “Pro Extreme,” “Extreme Pro Stock,” “Pro Extreme Motorcycle,” and “Extreme 10.5.” Bottom line: It’s fucking extreme.

The American Drag Racing League hits the Palm Beach International Raceway (17047 Beeline Highway, Jupiter) from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tickets are free in advance. Go to adrl.us, or call 561-622-1400.
Fri., April 15, 9 a.m.; Sat., April 16, 9 a.m., 2011
