If your significant other is taking you to Italy for Valentine’s Day this year, you can stop reading. For the rest of us, the closest we’ll get to a romantic getaway abroad is Rick Steves’ Europe on PBS. Or we can peel ourselves off the couch and treat our valentine to a Venetian-inspired candlelight dinner at the Restaurant at the Four Seasons Palm Beach (2800 S. Ocean Blvd., Palm Beach). Customers can choose from a special holiday menu, which includes courses like chilled lobster, lamb chops, and sweet pea and truffle risotto and which costs $95 per person. Dinner will run from 6 to 10 p.m., and reservations can be made at fourseasons.com/palmbeach.

If exoticism isn’t what you seek but ethical eating is, check out vegan paradise Sublime (1431 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale) for only $39 per person. The menu includes a glistening red chard salad, macadamia Gardein cutlet, wild mushroom en papillote (made up of portobello, shiitake, and button mushrooms served with herb butter, wild rice, and various vegetables), and strawberry “cheese” cake. Dinner runs from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Both options offer a complimentary glass of champagne. Visit sublimerestaurant.com/valentines.
