Sure it's the holidays, but does that mean you're stuck listening to bad pop covers of Christmas songs? Not when there's a funk, soul, and Motown music tribute to be had. The Norton museum is hosting an exhibition called "Say It Loud: Art by African and African-American Artists in the Collection." If that names sounds familiar, it's because it's also the title of a James Brown song. Brown, along with Otis Redding and other artists, will have their music covered at this week's Art After Dark event by Greg Jackson and the Mojo Band. Although the exhibition runs through March 3, on Thursday during Art After Dark from 5 to 9 p.m., the museum is offering free admission as a holiday gift to the community. The exhibition itself includes many dramatic paintings, sculptures, photographs, and works on paper covering much of the past 100 years. The Norton Museum is located at 1451 S. Olive Ave. in West Palm Beach. Call 561-832-5196, ext. 1133, or visit norton.org.
