It might not seem like it at first, but the face is probably the most intimate part of the human body. Sure, it's also the most public, but no other area of your physical being is a better representation of who you are. Your face expresses every emotion. If you're ill, your cheeks flush. If you're tired, there are circles beneath your eyes. And think about how many people in your life you would allow to come right up close to your face. Your face is you. Photographer Martin Schoeller explores this very concept with his series "Closeup" at the Boca Raton Museum of Art (501 Plaza Real, Boca Raton) from Wednesday through March 18. The 48 large-format prints feature both world-famous celebrities and anonymous nobodies bearing the same expression and cast in the same lighting. By repeating the same pose over and over, Schoeller exposes what makes each face -- and its owner -- unique.

Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
