The acres north of downtown Fort Lauderdale are known as the FAT Village Arts District. Saturday, they will host the second Art Walk from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The FAT Village collective consists of several svelte individuals concerned about bringing life and activity to the galleries of Fort Lauderdale with a few cocktails to boot. The Art Walk is centralized on NW First Avenue in the heart of FAT Village, which runs between Fourth and Sixth streets — the FAT stands for Flagler Arts and Technology Village. Every type of visual art will be on display: acrylics, oil, wood, video installations, interactive sculpture, video computer, and some things that simply must be seen to be believed. The Art of Alex Studio’s namesake will be on hand to discuss his vibrant creations at his 500 NW First Ave. lair. Out in the street, a shadow puppeteer will share his gifts with passersby. Living Arts will host an adaptation of the popular 1960 musical the Fantasticks. Museum of Art|Fort Lauderdale has an installation of huge proportions planned. There will be plenty of eats, music, and maybe a couple of Marcel Marceau look-alikes. No cover. Call Art of Alex Studio at 954-305-6608.
