It's dizzying to follow a checkered soccer ball darting from one end of the field to the other for 90 minutes. But tensions run high on Saturday as the Fort Lauderdale Strikers take on the San Antonio Scorpions for the second time this season. Already beating the Scorpions 2-1 in their last game in Texas, the Strikers will try to do it again come Saturday, this time on their home turf. Marking the first win of the season for new head coach Gunter Kronsteiner, who began in July, the team credits English midfielder Mark Anderson for assisting on the first goal and scoring the second. On a roll, the team won its last game the following weekend against the Atlanta Silverbacks. Rock up to the stadium in your favorite yellow- and red-striped jersey and shout relentlessly into the crowd, which is just as eager as you are for a goal. The match will take place at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Lockhart Stadium, at 1301 NW 55th St. in Fort Lauderdale. Admission starts at $12. Call 954-606-0400, or visit strikers.com.
