If you've spent most of this year burning the candle at both ends, it's time for a little mental R&R. Chinmaya Mission in Miami and world-renowned speaker Swami Swaroopananda invite you to attend a series of free workshops from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Friday through Tuesday. The themes vary and include such topics as "Mind: Can It Be Tamed?" and "Destiny: Who Is in Charge?" If you're a more serious seeker, you can attend Sunday's "Strength: A Life Management Workshop" to help strengthen your mind, body, and personal relationships from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Using a variety of unique techniques and Vedanta teachings, author, teacher, and public speaker Swami Swaroopananda has made the journey to spiritual growth accessible to people of all ages. He's traveled the world, teaching students, business people, and students about the benefits of meditation. This interactive, hands-on workshop will focus on creative, life-changing techniques based on the Advaita Vedanta teachings. Unlike the free series, registration for this workshop costs $125. The workshops will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Airport Marriott, located at 1201 NW Lejeune Road in Miami. Parking costs $3. Call 305-803-9680, or visit cmmiami.org.
