Muppets to the Rescue

It sucks when we get sick, but when the little rugrat falls ill, damn, that's a total disaster. They need to remain healthy for your sake -- they need to start creating healthy habits on their own. Don't even try to teach them. They're not going to listen to you. Who will they listen to? Muppets. The muppets from Sesame Street. There is a whole theater production at the Broward Center that'll dazzle up healthiness for you. It's called Sesame Street Live: "Elmo's Healthy Heroes." There will be giant, live muppets on a stage -- you probably want to go to this. So something has happened on Sesame Street: Super Grover has lost his "superness" -- something far worse than the flu. Will someone -- or, rather, something -- save the day? Of course -- it's Sesame Street. We gather a hero will pop in rather quickly, actually. That superhero is Elmo. He has a team of superhero friends (because muppets of the same feather flock together). Together through song and dance, they'll teach the audience about hygiene, exercise, sleep/energy, and nutrition. The heroes take over the Broward Center of the Performing Arts (201 SW Fifth Ave., Fort Lauderdale) at 10 a.m., 2 p.m., and 6 p.m. Saturday; 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday; and 10:30 a.m. on Monday. Tickets cost $10 to $67, the latter of which is for the "Sunny Seat" package offering a muppet meet & greet. Visit browardcenter.org or sesamestreetlive.com.
Sat., Sept. 24, 10 a.m., 2 & 6 p.m.; Sun., Sept. 25; Mon., Sept. 26, 2011
