One such event happened in May on NBCs Today Show with the surprise announcement that, after 15 years, boy band phenomenon New Kids on the Block would reunite. True, it has been a minute since the boys from Boston sold 70 million albums worldwide with sticky sweet pop jams like Step by Step and Please Dont Go Girl. And the groups brace-faced prepubescent fans turned into women and eventually gave up on dreams to marry Donnie Wahlberg, Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Jonathan Knight or, in some cases, Danny Wood. Critics were understandably flabbergasted when the Right Stuff singers/dancers inspired stroller-wielding moms to sleep outside of Rockefeller Center just to get a glimpse at the bands reunion.
Expect pandemonium when NKOTB arrives at BankAtlantic Center (2555 Panther Pkwy, Sunrise) with an 8 p.m. performance. Tickets cost between $35 to 75.
