Composure is key for responsible, grown women. Rarely do they get shaken, miffed, or rattled, but when certain situations transpire, even the strong fall prey to fandom, eliciting high-pitched squeals that summon nearby canines.

One such event happened in May on NBC’s Today Show with the surprise announcement that, after 15 years, boy band phenomenon New Kids on the Block would reunite. True, it has been a minute since the boys from Boston sold 70 million albums worldwide with sticky sweet pop jams like “Step by Step” and “Please Don’t Go Girl.” And the group’s brace-faced prepubescent fans turned into women and eventually gave up on dreams to marry Donnie Wahlberg, Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Jonathan Knight or, in some cases, Danny Wood. Critics were understandably flabbergasted when the “Right Stuff” singers/dancers inspired stroller-wielding moms to sleep outside of Rockefeller Center — just to get a glimpse at the band’s reunion.

Expect pandemonium when NKOTB arrives at BankAtlantic Center (2555 Panther Pkwy, Sunrise) with an 8 p.m. performance. Tickets cost between $35 to 75.
