Certain combinations are just meant to be: Simon and Garfunkel, peanut butter and jelly, gays and theater. Uh, hello, have you seen Rent? As the final performance of the Pride Series, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts is featuring Bare, a rock musical based on five Catholic high school students dealing with issues of personal and sexual identity as they get closer to graduating and entering the real world. Broadway actresses Jodie Langel (Les Mis) and Mimi Jimenze (Rent) star alongside Christian singer/songwriter Ray Boltz in this high-energy production. The show deals with a range of adult themes and subject matter: homosexuality, love affairs, conformity, jealousy. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, with an additional matinee on Saturday at 3 p.m. Tickets cost $35.
