If one of your best friends barks or purrs, odds are you are an animal lover. And if you are an animal lover, you will not want to miss the 23rd-annual Walk for the Animals, hosted by the Humane Society of Broward County, on Saturday. The walk, which will take place in Huizenga Plaza in downtown Fort Lauderdale, located at 1 E. Las Olas Blvd., raises money for the Humane Society, helping animals find new and loving forever homes.
Bring family, friends, and pooches and join in the fun from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Enjoy live music and treats, and join the walk at 10 a.m. Register online, or register on-site at 8 a.m. The event is free, but a $150 donation per individual, which includes a bandanna, a T-shirt, and a chance to win two tickets to the April 20 Rihanna concert, is recommended. Raise $500 or more and your name will be entered to win a $1,000 shopping spree at Target. Gather friends, family, and coworkers and raise a minimum of $1,500 to form a "pack." Call 954-266-6817, or visit walk4theanimals.com.
