Reducing your carbon footprint doesn't have to be boring. Matter of fact, it can be laugh-out-loud funny and provide entertainment for the whole family too. Just ask visual performer Steve Trash, who has made a career out of it. Known as the "Rockin' Eco Hero," Trash was living "green" before it was cool and has toured the world over with his variety show that's part magic, part concert and 100 percent educational. Picture Nickelodeon's You Can't Do That on Television but with a redeeming eco-friendly message and there you have what Trash does for the environmentalist cause. Trash has been spreading his message of conservation across the globe, performing in Japan, Australia, Canada, Spain, Portugal, and in Fort Lauderdale this week. His show is part of the Smart Stage Matinee Series, presented by the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, consisting of educational performances that provide students from kindergarten through 12th grade with the chance to reinforce what they are learning in the classroom. Catch Steve Trash and his recycling bin full of laughter this Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Parker Playhouse, located at 707 NE Eighth St. in Fort Lauderdale. Tickets cost $7. Call 954-462-0222, or visit parkerplayhouse.com.
