There are three things about South Florida you can always count on. First,
it will always be hot it hasnt snowed since 1977, and a repeat anytime soon is doubtful. Second, there will be hurricanes. (It may have been a few years now, but theyll be back.) Third, the Everglades is the whipping boy of South Floridians. While you cant do much about the first two, locals from the Everglades Earth First organization are aligning themselves with local bands at Propaganda (6 S. J St., Lake Worth) to make a difference to help save the glades and protect the lives of all those squirrelly little bog creatures you dont see on a day-to-day basis because our neighborhoods have been drained and hosed down with pesticides. Bands playing include the all-natural, homegrown, banjo-heavy Everglades folk rock of the Everymen, the sawgrass-inspired Americana of Valerie C. Wisecracker, and the indie soul pop of Viva Le Vox. Doors open at 8 p.m.; tickets are a suggested donation of $5. Call 561-547-7273, or visit propagandalw.com.
