Miss the days of heading down to the local bar for some tunes, food, and spirits? If so, dig through the spiny branches of the gooseberry bush to the sweet fruit that is the band Gooseberry Ranch. It’s time for some classic rock at the Sample Road Tavern, thanks to the musical stylings of the local classic rock and blues band. Gooseberry Ranch includes Rockin’ George on lead guitar and vocals, Edward on bass guitar and vocals, and Steve on drums. The three-piece group takes its mean styles from the greats, including the Who, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, and Tom Petty. As a group, the trio has a concerted passion for playing, and that fuels its energetic shows. “We have a sincere passion for the music we play, and it definitely shows in our performances,” says Rockin’ George. “We are fueled by our passion for music and are always blown away from the energy we receive back from the audience. Feeling the connection with the audience makes our performances so enjoyable.” Sample Road Tavern is one of Broward’s newest watering holes. The restaurant and bar features New Orleans-inspired comfort food in addition to sweet tunes.
