In our nearly seasonless South Florida, we miss out on experiencing beautiful fall foliage at the turn of the summer-to-fall season. Though this might be a bummer to many, there's still hope to celebrate fall fun this Friday during Broward Parks' Hayride and Campfire Series. The nostalgic evening begins with a nice hayride around the park and ends with a s'mores roast around the campfire. It's advisable to come prepared with campfire stories to share for all. Y'know, that "one time in band camp tale" never gets old. Got an inkling to sing? Bring some copies of classic tunes appropriate for the occasion, like Woody Guthrie's "This Land Is Your Land," or break out Bob Dylan's "Blowin' in the Wind" for a smashing good time.
Quiet Waters Park hosts this Friday's camp fun, but the series occurs at various Broward parks every Friday through the end of February. Keep in mind that this event is popular, so advance registration is recommended.
Get onboard this Friday from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Quiet Waters Park, 401 S. Powerline Road, Deerfield Beach. Call 954-357-5100, or visit broward.org/parks. Tickets cost $3.50 per person and include a bag of s'mores.
