Satans Youth Ministry typically plays under several glowing neon pentagrams that flash in time to guitar solos and blink along with the vocals. But where youd expect guttural grindcore screams and crunchy guitar noise, there are only the softer sounds of psychedelic garage rock. The Alabama-based five-piece mixes Motörhead-style vocals with smooth organ riffs inspired by The Doors and then tosses in a bit of Iron Butterfly drumming goodness for a unique sound not often heard in South Florida. But, unfortunately, the bands onstage antics and catchy lyrics are just a facade for spreading the bad word of Beelzebub. The devil apparently is no longer speaking to the youth through death metal because hes already converted all the Cattle Decapitation and Slayer fans! Surfer Blood and Kill Now?! will also play. Tickets cost $5. Call 561-547-7273, or visit propagandalw.com.
