Whether you’re the hardcore kayaking type who regularly navigates the Peace River, or a member of the club whose water skills consist of splashing around in the pool on an inflatable donut tube, you should check out the full-moon standup paddleboard session at 7:30 p.m. at Villas by the Sea (4510 El Mar Drive). You show up in swimwear, and Ark Boards (arkboards.com) and BC Surf and Sports will lend you a paddleboard free of charge, but if you own one yourself, bring it. This event, sponsored by BC, will have plenty of fine watersports instructors on hand. There will also be a barbeque. Everything at the event is free, and to boot, you’ll get a voucher to buy your own discounted paddleboard from BC. So paddle out for a workout, or to ride small waves if we’re so fortunate to have any, or just hang out on the water with your buddies and sip beer. That’s right: Bring your own adult beverage. And glow sticks too. Call BC Surf and Sports at 954-564-0202.
