Do you know what a story about a talking rabbit, a hookah-smoking caterpillar, a disappearing grinning cat, a queen with a penchant for beheading people, and a girl who chews mushrooms and talks to animals needs? A twist, of course! Enter Reach Dance Company, which has transformed Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland into a full-length modern jazz ballet. The remake is entitled Alice Traditionally Twisted, and the troupe will perform it at 3 p.m. at Palm Beach Community College’s Eissey Theater (11051 Campus Drive, Palm Beach Gardens). So rather than being confused as to why the little white rabbit is wearing a petticoat and how many mushrooms you’d have to eat to sit through a ballet, you can wonder how these beautiful dancers got so flexible and why you’ve waited so long to see professional dancers who keep their clothes on. Tickets are $16 for seniors and children under 12, $21 for everyone else. Call 561-207-5900, or visit reachdancecompany.com.
