Look up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's... Yeah, it's probably a plane, because you're standing right next to the airport, among 900 guys who look like Kevin Smith and what we'll all pretend is a super hot babe inside that Chewbacca suit. But back inside, wiping sloppy joe sauce from his lips with a cape his mom sewed from an old bathrobe: that guy is Superman. Yep, Florida Supercon is back and coming to the Miami Airport Convention Center (711 NW 72nd Ave., Miami). The annual event brings more than 50,000 square feet of geeky bliss to Miami, with hundreds of exhibitors; events; and appearances by three-dimensional people from the worlds of comic books, animation, video games, science fiction and other things people get teased for, even though they are totally fun and you should just get over yourself, jocks. Also: ow, stop pushing me. This year, you'll have the opportunity rub elbows (known as "sixth base" in nerd circles because they don't understand sports or sex) with George Takei (George Takei!), the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the cast of The Walking Dead, the actual Kevin Smith, professional wrestler Sgt. Slaughter, Supergirl creator Al Plastino and a whole heck of a lot more. Advance tickets cost $25 per day or $70 for a four-day pass.
