FAU Friedberg Lifelong Learning Auditorium

20th century Klezmer musicians were influenced by a wide range of musical styles from America to Argentina. The use of American Jazz and the Tango with traditional Klezmer tunes became extremely popular during WWII. Jewish composers and audiences throughout the world found the tango very appealing and sexy, even when set to Yiddish songs. KCO will perform popular Klezmer melodies in a traditional American Jazz style and Yiddish songs in a Tango style reminiscent of the music heard between 1910 - 1950 in the Yiddish Theater, on the radio and at clubs. Partially sponsored by Drs. Stanley and Dorothy Pierce. The Jewish Cultural Society (JCS), a volunteer support organization whose mission is to advance Jewish cultural traditions and education at FAU Libraries through philanthropic endeavors and programs, is sponsoring this program. $20 Individual JCS members $30 JCS member couples $25 Each non-member FAU students free with Owl card
