Nobody in the world sounds like Antony and the Johnsons. Antony Hegarty's voice is haunting in a way that makes you feel like maybe you're actually being haunted. It's ghostly and spooky, but not like in an aggressive Poltergeist way, not nearly as meek as Casper, but like that nice old-lady ghost you found in the attic of some abandoned Victorian mansion. Sweetly spooky.

Antony and his gang are putting out Cut the World on August 6, an album recorded this past September in Copenhagen with the Danish National Chamber Orchestra, featuring arrangements by Nico Muhly, Rob Moose, Maxim Moston, and Antony himself. The 12 tracks are symphonic performances of the band's other LPs and one talk by Antony on gender-related stuff. The album is, according to a release: "Antony's continued meditation on light, nature, and femininity."
