The Bendy Pastorius Group isn't playing straight-ahead bop by any means, but its funk-tinged electric jazz still swings, and it's lively enough to make folks want to get up and dance. The group has local roots (natch) as drummer Julius Pastorius was born and raised here along with his twin brother, Felix — they're sons of a jazz giant, bassist Jaco Pastorius. That alone is reason enough to come out and see this show, especially since neither of the Pastorius twins calls Florida home anymore and this monthlong stint they're playing in the basement state is probably their last for awhile. On top of all that, the Bendy Brothers (Mike and John) are ace guitarists, and when this unit gets on stage, expect to be impressed beyond belief.
